Hylaeus is Lucile Rose Nihlen (she/her), a software developer/solitary bee living in a suburb of Toronto. I develop Hadron, a Rust-based reimplementation of the SuperCollider audio synthesis programming language. Much of this blog is technical discussion about Hadron, SuperCollider, as well as interpreters, compilers, and creative software more generally. I'm always happy to chat about Hadron, you can email me at hylaeus at solitarybees.ca.
When I'm not working, or working on Hadron, I enjoy spending time with my wife, playing video games, reading, martial arts, roller derby, cooking and eating, listening to and making music, riding motorcycles, hiking, or just sitting on the couch watching Bake-Off re-runs with my dog Molly and two cats Thomas and Vincent.
